I wish I could have captured this scene as well as what was going on around him. Imagine a private dining room in a lovely Chinese restaurant. Around the table are suit-wearing law professors and attorneys who are celebrating the end of a successful conference with my husband. The rotating table is loaded with course after course of phenomenal Chinese dishes, usually offered with a story about how special each one is and how difficult it is to prepare. Ellie is asleep in my lap. Trip needs to be watched to ensure that he does not list or fall off of his chair completely. The food was too delicious to describe. The company was delightful and interesting. I wish I could say that we will all remember it forever, but the kids will not. However, I suspect they may remember waking up at 2 am and digging into the doggie bags where everything was as scrumptious as ever.
