On to Hong Kong

What a wonderful time we had in Taiwan and how fortunate we were to be able to visit not just Taipei but also Kaosiung in the southern part of the country. After a week, when we were almost over our jet lag, we said goodbye to our hosts and flew off to the next part if our adventure. As long as we were "in the neighborhood", we decided to explore Hong Kong. Arriving at night, riding in a speeding cab with the lights of the city surrounding us, we felt as though we were zooming into some futuristic space port. But when the sun came up the next morning we could see that this metropolis if glass and lights was more significantly defined by it's natural features: the expansive harbor, the craggy mountains, and steps outside our hotel, the lush and meandering gardens of Hong Kong Park.
